Indonesia's aging population is increasing the importance of long-term care, community support and sustainable approaches to healthy aging. Demographic change, major geographic variation, changing family structures and growing demand for support are creating new challenges for health services, local government, communities and families. The first collection within this Knowledge Hub explores Indonesia Aging, Long-Term Care & Community Support, with additional specialist collections considered as the library develops.

This Knowledge Hub examines Indonesia's developing approach to aging, long-term care, primary and community-based support, family caregiving, financing, workforce capacity and social protection. It forms part of the wider International Knowledge Hub within Impact Insights Hub, providing practical insight for providers, policymakers, researchers, health systems and community care leaders examining how large and diverse countries are responding to population aging.

Articles will explore aging in place, primary care, community services, health coverage, long-term care financing, informal caregiving, dementia, rehabilitation, disability, rural and island access, urban aging, safeguarding, digital technology, quality, data and integrated care. Particular attention will be given to Indonesia's decentralized governance, extensive community infrastructure and the challenge of developing support across a geographically dispersed archipelago.

The series will also consider the wider international relevance of Indonesia's experience without assuming that its model can simply be transferred elsewhere. As the collection grows, it will provide an increasingly substantial English-language resource on how Indonesia is adapting health, social and community systems for an aging population.
