Türkiye is experiencing significant demographic and social change as population aging, longer life expectancy, changing family structures and rising support needs increase the importance of sustainable long-term care. The first collection within this Knowledge Hub explores Türkiye Aging, Long-Term Care & Community Support, with additional specialist collections planned as the library expands.

This Knowledge Hub examines how Türkiye can develop long-term care and community support while protecting autonomy, dignity, participation and quality of life. It explores the connections between health services, social assistance, home-based support, residential provision, disability services, families, municipalities and the paid and unpaid care workforce.

Aging at home and community-based support will be central themes throughout the collection. Articles will examine home care, family caregiving, healthy aging, dementia, disability, rehabilitation, integrated health and social care, hospital transitions and the development of alternatives to institutional provision.

Workforce, quality and sustainability provide further areas of focus. The series will explore professionalisation, safeguarding, person-centred support, financing, governance, regional inequalities and emergency preparedness, alongside the opportunities and risks created by digital care, telecare, data and emerging technologies.

As the Knowledge Hub expands, it will build a substantial English-language resource on Türkiye's changing care landscape, culminating in an examination of the future of social care in Türkiye and the prospects for a more sustainable, integrated and person-centred system.
